I’m Ray, the newest voice on the Think Ink phone system. I’m also the one that needs to shout the loudest; at about four thousand, nine hundred miles, I live farther from the office than almost all our customers. That’s rather far for a daily commute, so I instead connect to the phone system and office through an Internet connection from my computer in Brazil. If you place an order with me, I print your invoice right in the office for one of my coworkers to mail to you. Need to send me a fax? Just send it to our fax number, and an Epson WF-C5790 in the office converts your fax to an email attachment that I can open on my screen.
São Paulo is the most populous city in Brazil with around 12.4 million inhabitants within its limits. The entire state of Ohio only has 11.75 million!
You may wonder what I’m doing on the underside of the globe; well, it’s home to me! My family moved to Brazil when I was eleven years old to help establish a church to work alongside a literature distribution project. Nearly thirteen years later, I sell books and Bibles on consignment through more than eighty small stores, which is why I won’t be the one to take your calls on Thursdays and Fridays. Since I don’t have an internet connection at home, my “office” is simply an available slot underneath the pallet racks in the literature warehouse, which works well… if I remember to avoid bumping my head when I stand up. So far, I’ve kept the languages straight, but I do work with three of them, English, Pennsylvania Dutch, and Portuguese. So if someday I answer your call with Portuguese by mistake, just try another language.
Meanwhile, happy printing!
