Sam & Fred’s Printer Predicament–Part III
“My dentist appointment. I almost forgot!” Fred exclaimed. Racing from his office, he noticed a line of customers at his service counter. It must be that old printer! he thought to himself.
“Looks great; no cavities!” the dentist gushed as he readjusted Fred’s chair.
Fred’s heart sank as he saw the billing line. But before he knew it, he was at the counter. “How do you get so many people through that fast?” Fred asked the secretary.
She smiled. “Well, my new printer can spit out invoices in less than 5 seconds. It’s from Think Ink.”
Think Ink. That’s the company Sam was working with, Fred thought.
Before Fred reached his truck, he had already dialed Think Ink’s number. “Hello, I’m Joe. How can I help you?” said a smiling voice.
Fred explained. “My office printer is so slow; it’s causing longer lines than I’d like.
“What else will you be using it for? Do you print in color?”
“No, just invoice printing and other small jobs.”
“Do you need to scan, fax, email, and copy?”
“You can do all that with one printer!?” Fred exclaimed. “I could get rid of my scanner and fax machine. They’re old and slow, too.”
“Then, let me introduce you to the Canon MF445DW.” Joe said.
A few days later, Fred’s new printer arrived at his door. Before long, it was purring along like a charm.
On a hectic October day several months later, Fred stepped out of his office to see how his secretary was keeping up. He turned the corner to see Wilma whizzing through her work while the
printer whirred. Customer after customer paid their invoices and left the shop. Just then, a new Google review popped up on his phone. “Fred’s Engine Repair has fast customer service! They value your time!”
Fred smiled thoughtfully to himself. Then he pulled out his phone and dialed Sam Yoder.
“Hey, Sam, Fred here. Are you hungry for a cheesesteak?”
“Always!” Sam replied.
“Alright, suit you for 12:00?”
“Yup, works great!” said Sam.
As they slid into the booth at Pop’s Sandwich Shoppe, Fred said, “It’s on me. I owe you one. I was pushy and rude about the printer last year, and I’m sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Sam said. “It’s all good.”
Fred told Sam all about his experience with Think Ink and the difference it was making for his business.
“Glad to hear it!” Sam said. “We keep saving money on ink costs over at the school. Wouldn’t it be neat to give the teachers a nicer Christmas gift this year?”
“For sure!” Fred agreed.
But when Christmas came around, it wasn’t just the teachers that scored. On Fred’s front porch sat a brand-new marble roller painted bright red. Carved across the bottom was: “Merry Christmas to a fellow Think Ink fan!”
